FAQ
Systems & Performance
Need help right now? Our 24/7 line is answered by real people.
How long does an HVAC system last?
With regular upkeep, central AC and heat pumps last about 15–20 years in Southern California, and furnaces about 18–25. Neglected systems often fail sooner.
How often should I change my air filter?
Every 1–3 months — or monthly with pets or allergies. Dust, wildfire smoke and long cooling seasons clog filters quickly here.
What temperature should I set my thermostat to in summer?
Around 78°F is a good balance of comfort and efficiency — every degree cooler adds noticeably to your bill.
Why is my AC running but not cooling?
Common causes include a clogged filter, low refrigerant, a failed capacitor, dirty coils or a frozen evaporator coil. Running a faulty unit can turn a small repair into a big one, so call us early.
Are smart thermostats worth it?
Usually. They typically cut cooling costs by around 8–15% — more on time-of-use rates — and utility rebates may offset the price.
What should I check before calling for repair?
Confirm the thermostat is set to cool and below room temperature, check the filter and breakers, and note any unusual sounds or smells.
FAQ
Costs, Rebates & Decarbonization
Need help right now? Our 24/7 line is answered by real people.
How much does a new AC or heat pump cost?
It depends on the system type (central AC, heat pump or ductless mini-split), size and efficiency. Rebates and incentives reduce the net cost — we show them on every quote.
Is a heat pump a good choice for Los Angeles homes?
Generally yes. Heat pumps heat and cool efficiently from one system and handle LA’s mild winters very well. They’re also the cornerstone of home decarbonization.
Do you offer financing?
Yes — we can discuss financing options when you request a quote, along with any rebates you qualify for.
Can you help me move my home off gas?
Absolutely. Our decarbonization service plans heat pumps, solar + battery, EV charging and panel upgrades as one coordinated roadmap.
